Hello Folks!

currently are my biggest problem in Poland is to get some water.
I dont like camping grounds - and my camping car is 100% independent
for weeks - so it is necessary for my, to get water in other places.
In other countries it is usual that you can take water for a small fee at
special parking places for camping cars - or at the gas stations.
Until today it did not succeed, that I got some water in gas stations.
(with one exception at a gas station at the highway)
They always told me: "no possible - we dont have" - is that true?
(although I have always shown my motorhome.)
Does polish gas stations not have water? What about the truck drivers?
Where they get the water?

I tryed it with "Czy moge kupic wode tutaj?" (written in my cell phone)
but they always wanted sell water in bottles. It was impossible to make
that people understand, that I need a water tap for my water hose.

My Questions at the Forum:

Could you write me a small text in polish language, that explains,
that I need a water tap to connect my water hose to fill my tanks
inside of my camping car - and that I will pay for that.

Are there alternative possibilities to get water in Poland?
(for example: in Spain are plenty of springs an they have a Law,
that springs are always public and everybody can take water there)

thx in advance!

Tom

Hi Tom,

Unfortunatelly our infrastructure for caravans is not so mature like in Western Europe. During the travel across of Poland I thinnk that it is possible to fill in your water tank on the private house yard.

The short text: Good mornning, can I fill up water tank in my vehicle? I need the acess to water tap whith water hose.

"Dzien Dobry, czy moge u Pana/Pani zatankowac wode do mojego pojazdu. Potrzebuje dostep do weza ogrodowego"

It will be good for you that you will write some words about your trip. We have many users of this forum and there is a chance that someone can help you.

Best Regards and have a good moments in Poland.

In our country we have winters with temperature failing even -30, so we cannot have taps outside of heated buildings. (if we had any, it get frozen and get fatal damage after first frost). Taps with water are usually only in WC, inside of petrol stations.

Truck drivers can take water from WC on petrol stations, or buy 5-litres water bottles in any groccery shops.

I think at countryside you can get water for your camper from people. Polish people on countryside are very open for travellers. Just ask anybody form first house you met, and I'm sure they share hose with drinkable water. They will appreciate if you give them can or bottle of beer for that.

At urban area, can be more dificult, people there are rather self-centered.

BTW, If you plan visiting Kraków, don't be shy and visit me. I will supply your camper with water, and also you can park for free on my ground. ;). I live 20km north from Kraków city center. (public transport available if neccesary). I will send my details on prv.

In Poland there are also plenty of springs - usually with mineral water (containing a lot of magnesium). Everybody can take water from there. But it is pretty difficult to find a spring. If you want I can give you some addresses of springs in  the south of Poland
